Weak Music for Thomas was an influential Prattville, Alabama–based quartet featuring Brandon Marvin (guitar, vocals), Robert Taylor (drums, occasional synth), Adam Parker (bass), and Brian Carroll (synth, organ, vocals), active from 2000 to 2009, known for blending math-rock, post-hardcore, punk, and indie rock. Their sound combined angular guitar work, intricate rhythms, and shifting time signatures with a balance of technical precision and raw energy.
The band released The Fire and The Red Scare before briefly disbanding in 2004. When they reunited in 2006, guitarist Shane Gillis joined the lineup, helping shape the metal-leaning sound of Evil Squared.
